Further Growth

The year 2018 was easily my most impressive year yet. Through the recognition I received, the people I connected with, the work I created, and the knowledge I gained. As I got back to Canada (from Nigeria), my entire perspective changed. I arrived home with numerous goals that would be achieved one way or another. I’m glad to say that most were successfully achieved! I curated two sold out exhibits, developed some dope relationships through my creative work, and grew as a wholesome individual. I am now 26, and honestly it feels like I’m 30. I don’t know why this one feels like a big leap, but here we are. It’s time to elevate on work ethic, spirituality, responsibility, dedication, family time, amongst many other qualities of life. My mom does this thing where she makes me feel way older than I am. Every time my birthday hits, she tells me I’m almost the age that follows.

“Joe, you are almost 27, please act accordingly.”

It’s a bit dramatic, but it surprisingly keeps me thriving.

I need this year to be another jump in the right direction. I stopped saying “what if” and started doing without seeking validation. The initiative taken has rewarded me in several ways. I feel so blessed to be in the position I am currently in, but certainly would not be where I am without the support of my peers, friends, and family. Not every opportunity leads to a W, but the L’s are lessons opposed to losses. With that perspective, I’ve found myself constantly striving to be the best I can be; omitting distractions and the feeling of doubt.

I want to keep this short and sweet, primarily due to the fact that the year ahead will speak for itself. I hope everyone reading this post will take this year by storm, what is destined for you will be yours. The folks at the top did not just fall there.

Learn.

Earn.

Return.

Thank you for your time.

Oh and…Happy Birthday To ME!
